Default 4:10 rear gearset question

Hey, if I put the 4:10 rear dif gears in place of the Z51 set, what would my RPM's be at 60 MPH? I know they will be higher but I'm no math genius.

Would this really screw up my 32 MPG I'm getting now on the freeway?

Would this make my first gear too low and unusable?

1st gear goes quick

With my 4.10's I am cruising 75 mph at 2,000 rpms

That's what I'm talking about, any regrets for doing the swap?

I heard the rear ends are weak especially on the 05-07's. Can you just change the ring and pinon out or do you have to rebuild the who differential with stouter parts?

Your rpm's would 2000 @ 68 mph with 410's with the z tranny about 76
mph with the standard 6 speed.

I can see this being a problem with the lower ratio'd transmission of my Z51 set up. A car I had back in the early 70's had 410's and it was real quick around town.

For a mod, I figured it would be a good one for the Vette

would think 3.73s would be a bit more easy to live with (if those are available for the C6). What's 85mph in 6th like with 4.10s?

2500 in 6th at 85 would be a lot better than stock which would probably be under 1K!!

The math is not that tough. Divide the indicated speed at a particular RPM by 4.10. Multiply the results by 3.42. That will be your actual speed at that particular RPM with the new rear.

" Motorhead whats your price for flight " I was getting 33mpg hwy then I switched to 4.10. I lost about 1 mpg. A small price to pay for
all that performance. at 68 mph I was at 1500 rpm and that went to 1750 after 4.10. Standard corvette not z51.

Here's a calculator, just plug in the numbers and it will calculate anything you want to see.

Gear Calc

Here's my car, base tranny and 4.10s on the highway

How about "GEEKSTER" , havent used that one yet. BTW I will be posting a 4.10 + FAST VID very soon. Cant overemphasize how much
the 4.10 did for me for the small cost of 1 MPG HWY.

ill be going with 3.90's w/ my z51 for the sake of ever getting into the 10's and not having to shift into 5th or revving the **** outta the motor.

to sample your future mileage, drive down the highway, set cruise in 6th, then note mpg, then shift into 5th re-engauge cruise, and it will be about 1-2 mpg lower.

If you are going to track it, and use a tire that is different than the stock runflats, be sure to figure that into the equation as well.

I love the 410s as well on my base tranny. I couldnt believe the difference they made. For the gentleman that asked what the rpms are at 85, im seeing about 2250 on mine.
