Turning TPMS "OFF"
The black box will turn the TC and AH off at start up instead, and you would have to press the TC button to get them to turn back on instead.
As for the TC button,
Pressing the button twice, instead of holding it down for 5 seconds, will put the car into comp mode to turn TC off, but leaves on AH to a lesser degree instead.
TC is traction control, and AH is active handling.
There is not way to shut the ABS brakes off via any button.
As for what TC,AH, and ABS do,
TC is what keeps the tires from spinning out of control.
ABS is what keeps the tires from locking up and skidding.
AH is what keep the car straight and you out of danger to a degree (so long as you don't drive like fool). The car has sensors like Yaw and wheel speed and a steering wheel position sensors, and when the back end of the car starts to slip out wildly, the car will pick this up in the sensors, and cut the power as well as kick send oil pressure to the brakes to get the car straight again.
Also, the car has torque management (how much power the engine will send to the wheels at once), and this keeps you from destroying the drive line parts (again, so long as you don't act like a fool).
