Basically, i thought i burned my fuel pump out. I changed the pump. Still no fuel at the shrader valve. Nothing. I scanned the car today and no codes are showing up. the car just cranks and no fuel is being sent. I checked the relay, fuse, i dont know what else to look for.
What does the fuel pump look like? Is it the typical in tank pump with a sock on it? I've not messed with a pump yet, just trying to get some info to help troubleshoot.
When you ran it dry could you have picked something up in the line?
If it were me I would keep the fender liner out so you can get to the pump harness. Check it for voltage. See if you get intermittant voltages. Could be air although its a stretch. I've not had this experience, but I've seen some cars get air in the system and its a bitch to get it out (VWs). This may sound stupid but can you unhook the fuel line from the intake and run the pump? Be careful it does shoot out pretty strong. Run a line into a plastic gas tank or something. Make sure you have somebody to shut it of when you start yelling. This is not a 1 person operation or crap will spray everywhere. I have a fitting that goes into the factory fuel line that you can screw a fuel line into. I'd use that and try and purge the system. There is supposed to be a check valve in the intank pumps but you might try and hooking a handy vac to the line and drawing fuel out, kinda like bleeding the brakes. These may be stupid suggestions but nothing makes sense giving it was running fine till you ran it out of gas and you already changed pumps.

i can bleed off air by opening the shrader valve at the end of the fuel rail.. which i've tried.. i dont think air in the system is the culprit here

first thing you should do is check your powers and grounds. check your fuse first. check if you have power going to the connector. check grounds. do the easy things first

I had the same problem...there is a ground wire that attaches to the rear part of the frame on the drivers side just behind the rear axle that grounds the fuel pump. All i had to do was tighten that down and it started right up!

i checked them before, i can look again i guess but i checked my fuses grounds and relays. Believe me i tried anything simple before i pulled that pump down.
I'm getting confused here: first, you said you had fuel at the schrader but no start, then the car started right up, then the car died and no fuel at schrader. and therefore you replaced the fuel pump.
If the pump is pumping out fuel, and there's nothing at the schrader, could it be there's something clogged in the fuel line due to running low/out of fuel? You DO have fuel coming out prior to the line running to the schrader, right?

That's what happened to my C6Z06, the fuel pump ground at the rear of the frame.
Also check the ground wire at the rear of the driver's side head.

This is correct. i dont really see what could be clogged in the fuel line at this point. I know running fuel low will give you a better chance of picking up debris but when i had the tank out, it was Clean with NO debris sitting in the tank.
The car is now at the dealership awaiting diagnostics. I will probably have a better idea tomorrow.
