Will be coming up on my 1st oil change (@ 30K for a 2005 Z51). I have a couple of questions. First, where is the best place to take it to (other than doing it yourself)? Many have recommended the Chevy dealership.
Second, I've been getting lots of opinions on synthetic oils and filters. Any recommendations for both? Some say the AC filter is the best way to go? Some say Mobil 1 isn't the best synthetic (but it is what's recommended).
Lastly, do you all change your oil at 0%? Or change it when you think you need it. Please advise?

Thanks, in advance, to all.
This can't be 30k and 4 years later? FIRST and ONLY change? Just wanted to make sure THATS
not what is happening here!

Hopefully, he means that he bought it used and its HIS first oil change. If not, I'd like to see that oil when it comes out - he could cut a piece off and have it tested!
Yes, bought mine previously owned and it is my 1st oil change.
Thanks to all for your inputs. I do have a Chevy dealer that is Corvette friendly. However, their oil change service is around $85/OTD. But I reside in No. CA (East Bay-near Dublin), so that is probably why the cost diff.
I change my oil at every 3 - 5k mi or when at 0%. I use Mobile 1 as the manufacturer suggests.
I changed the oil myself once, but haven't done so since because even on the jackstands I used, I barely had enough room underneath to breath, much less use a wrench. I need to upgrade to a better jack as well.
I have it done at the dealer now and they charge about $60.00 which isn't bad... However... at that price, I wonder if they're using Mobile 1 and I wonder what cheap oil filter they use.
I might start bringing my own oil and filter to a Quick Lube and watch them do the work using the stuff I supply.
