There's a new option: the CAGS resistor fuse:

That's a neat idea, but it's quicker to get the car on ramps and install one of the aftermarket cags disconnects at the tranny.

Will the fuse still "blow" as intended with a resistor soldered into place?

Just cutting the window and performing the soldering will take more time than installed the regular CAGS device - for most of us, anyway.

I think it's a great mod, but it's more of an electronics tech guru specialty mod than a broad based mod. (Fine soldering alone is not a broad-based skill and this mod requires it.)

Maybe you should sell them. I'd buy two of them for $25 (including shipping) as long as you check do a quick multi-meter QC check before you send them out to me.
