Default Service Active Handling Message

I have a 2007 MN6, 3LT, Z51 car with bolt ons and a tune. Every once in a while (4 times in 7000 miles), I get the Service AH message. I usually shut the car off, restart it and the message goes away. I always turn off the TCS and AH just in case. I know that this is not the cure but it makes me feel better..............

I am taking the car in to the dealer to fix the problem. I was curious if someone can prioritize the list from most common to least common causes of the AH message so that I can lead them in the right direction. It is a small dealership with a good tech but I don't want them going through the car on a fishing expedtion.

The tune - will they end up knocking it out by going through the ECU in search of the error? If so, what do I do to protect against it?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and my passenger side window indexing acted up on Friday. How do I reindex the windows?

I had the same problem with my 2007 3LT. Its the steering wheel positioning sensor associated with the telescoping wheel. When they hook up the computer the car tells them what device sent the message. You likely have the same problem. My dealer cleared the code and said if it happens again bring it back. Of course I know it would and it did an hour after I left. He replaced the part when I brought it back. The message has not come back and its been several months.

most common problem is the plug for the steering wheel position. under dash above brake pedal. remove plug and tighten the connections and use some electric contact grease to lube the contacts. connector is small and white with tow wires . you cant miss it. expect to do this every few months and lube your clutch spring at the same time.

Good info. My 07 3lt just started having this problem 3 weeks ago. I have gotten the 'service active handling' several times now. I will fish around for that plug and see what I can do. God knows I dont want to take it to the dealer and sit there all day.

Same problem here. 2006 C6 20K miles, no telescoping wheel. Came on the first 2 times in extreme heat and I was paddle shifting. Came on again a few days ago in low speed traffic and at a stop sign.
Pulled codes:
U0101
P0856
P0700
P0575
Cleared and see what happens.
