Default Callaway honker

I purchased a Callaway honker air induction for my '05 C6 at Carlisle this week....haven't installed it yet but now I have a friend telling me there's no noticable difference. Anybody have any feedback before I open the box?

Seat of pants no difference or dyno'd no difference. There are a few threads on it and seemed like people felt there was a difference. I am leaning towards the Honker as my next mod.

I can't speak for the Honker from experience but it is one of the best CAI's out there. I was going to put one on my Vette but for some reason the LS3 units continue to be back-ordered.

Now I can tell you this. Don't believe everything others tell you. Try it for yourself. I heard a lot of negative things about the Vararam before I bought it and it wasn't until I saw for myself that most of the negative things said were BS.

You already bought it and you have to take the shroud off anyway to install the Honker. Just buy an extra shroud and if you don't like it, return it to stock.

Good luck and if you do install it we like pics !

get up to speed and you'll notice a difference. It's a real CAI so you'd need to be moving for it's basic effect to take place.

I have a Honker on my 08 and I do notice a difference.
I haven't dynoed it yet, so I have no firm numbers.

I had a Honker installed on my 2005 C6 a few years ago. I noticed a difference in SOTP low-speed throttle response and acceleration. It also made a slightly different sound. I think that you'll like it.

My respiratory mod sequence:

B&B x-pipe and Route 66 exhaust.

Cory Harris ported tb and intake.

Callaway Honker CAI.

The BlueCoupe showed measurable progress (sound, fun & performance) with each change, but the CAI really pulled it all together. Love it!

Headers are probably next.

Excellent CAI unit ~ performance enhancement most notable as part of the total package.

Noticiable difference???? no unless you have a Turbo or S/C, I'd tried everything since my old days with my C5 and now my C6, CAI, air filters, cat backs, headers, X-pipes

While I personally prefer the performance gains derived from the Vararam Snake Charmer over the Honker I will say that your friend is wrong, the Honker is a decent performing CAI and will help one achieve solid gains at the track and on the street.

I have the Honker and love it. As part of my whole bolt on package I'm at 412 HP at the rear wheels. The Honker is a true CAI and not as likely to ingest water as the other CAI since it is not mounted low. You probably lose a little bit due to this but I believe it comes in 2nd for overall performance. Too many horror stories about the number 1 CAI. Scared me away.

Um I have it and I didn't feel any difference. It sounds cool when you punch it tho. After I get it tuned and use the full potential then I believe I will feel it but otherwise any CAI I don't think you can really feel the dif. It's all in your mind.

Less inlet air restriction and accesses cooler air to provide increased horsepower.
Approx. 15 rwhp with LS2, 17 with LS3 on the chassis dyno, standing still.
0.2 to 0.3 sec quicker in quarter-mile A-B testing.

Also excellent customer service. I lost the 2 MAF screws and I sent Callaway an email. Within an hour I had a response that they had mailed the screws to me. No charge and they were here the next day. Now that is outstanding customer service in my book.
