What is a Heat Soak Reduction Kit?

My new Z06 has the same idential surging problem when I tried to alter airflow from outside air. Anyone have a solution which seems to be an ongoing problem with 08's. Will a tune correct this?
Just an idea, but do you think placing a fine mesh screen over the hole reduce the turbulence? It would act like a baffle. Worth a try.

It is for the LS2, NOT the LS3...Apparently it replaces the IAT sensor with one that responds faster to actual heat changes. On the LS3 it is integrated into the MAF sensor and responds Very quickly as observed on my Scangauge so not needed with 08's and newer..

Anything over 86*. That explains a lot.
Yes, but if you have hp tuners, you can alter how much timing gets pulled at those iat temps also.

I have seen my iat`s drop from 85 degrees to 75 degrees at 60mph, and from 75 degrees to 68 degrees at 100mph with the vararam. I logged the run and this was my findings with the iat temps. I have several logs showing this drop. This was an 1/8 run.

Modshack,

You have a very nice setup.

Have you ever logged from 0-100mph to see what the iat temp differences were with your setup?

I added the Halltech Beehive to my Vette-Air/K&N set up today. I fabricated a baffle that sits on top of the Vette-Air to divert the incoming airstream to the sides of the filter and air-box. Seems to be working as the surging is gone.
