The check engine light came on on my convertible. I went to AutoZone and they ran the scanner on it for me. These are the 2 codes that came up: P0700 & P0711. Is this something I have to worry about or can I just have them reset the codes and go on my way? Any help is appreciated.

Are you still under warranty? If so, drive it down to the dealer.
Do you have an auto or manual transmission? I'm assuming auto.
It might be a transient problem. I'm reluctant to advise you to do something that would really damage your transmission, but if it were me I think I'd clear the codes, check transmission fluid level, and drive it a while. I'd also try to see if all wire connections going to the transmission sensors are connected properly. If it comes back on I guess it would be time for a visit to the dealer even if you won't have warranty coverage.
Yes it is an auto trans. Everything seems fine as nothing feels out of whack. I guess if I clear the codes and the problem is still there the light will come right back on????

I had same codes. Mine triggered in high heat conditions, using paddle shift and engine coolant was 220+ degrees, didnt check tranny temps, probably right up there. Cleared codes, changed tranny fluid and testing right now.
