My local dealer says the transmission has set a code that is preventing the cruise control from working. Doesn't show on the DIC and the transmission works fine.
Is there a way to reset (delete) that transmission code and NOT lose all my other settings, as I would by disconnecting the battery? Maybe the TCM fuse?
Thanks in advance for all the help, to others, from the dedicated experts here. Great job!

I am afraid that I can't answer your question on resetting the trans codes but I can tell you that my 2007 A6 did the same thing and the dealer had to replace the valve body. It was fine for a thousand miles or so until this week when it dropped out of cruise on it's own. I was able to reset the cruise immediately but I'm not happy. The dealer and I are going to have another talk. Please post whatever solution you or your dealer come up with. Thanks
I fixed it. At least temporarily.
I deleted the codes by pulling the two TCM fuses, #1 and #11, in the engine compartment. After replacing the fuses, the cruise works again and I did not lose any of my settings, such as, radio, seats, etc.
If it happens again, I'll let them work on it. Until then I'm spared the anxiety.
