Searched and didn't see anything like this so ... here goes ...
Just got an 08 c6 and am shopping for more sound. Coming from the late-model GTO camp where we found the "H-pipe" was just a pipe welded between the 2 straight-throughs with no openings to the side pipes at all. All we could figure was it's there to hold 2 sections of pipe together.
Has anyone verified that the H on c6 vettes is functional (e.g. open to side pipes)? ... and then same question goes for 08 X ...
One would assume the X to be functional ... but, we thought that about the h too so just wanted to see if anyone has verified ... or even asked.
Yes it works! I highly recommend the X-pipe even with stock exhaust, LOOK at them all try to get the type thats an X chamber, not just two pipes siamesed together
Not sure about the C6, but on the C5 the H-pipe was a joke. The pipe connecting the two larger pipes had an opening that was about 1" connecting the two sides. Not nearly large enough to balance the exhaust pulses. Ditch the h-pipe when you get headers.
