anyone here do the qtec exh cutouts on Z06 C6 contemplating mine but if I weld them into pipe how do i get the mufflers out if i need to. It doesn't appear to be a straight enough area to just cut and slide them and bolt in place looks like the need to be welded and adapted.
Nag1945,
I know the exhaust tubing on the C6 is different from the C5, but if you have to weld them in, you may want to consider the DMH "Low Profile" electric cutouts. They weld to the pipes and have an electrical switch that allows for the mild to wild experience if you will. I had these installed on my C5 and the exhaust note becomes fully tunable vice the one shot deal with a new exhaust. I will post the link to the pics of mine. They can be installed on either the C5 or C6- they are made to the exhaust tubing size vice year of vehicle. Hope that helps.
I purchased mine for $499 from my local shop- right before I found them for $399 at Maryland Speed. You may want to look at Corvette Recyclers too. They have them brand new. The only problem (if you are a "must have now guy" like me is that they are made by order. Mine took about a week turnaround but they are well worth it. The warranty is what sold me. You can get more details from their website dmhperfproducts.com . I just checked and Maryland Speed has raised their to $499 also.
I am not sure of the difficulty to install because I had a shop doit. I do know it took them about 6 hours which included welding and wiring. If you search my name you will find a pretty good link where others chimed in with their install stories. One guy did his own with a Dremel.
