Why are you downgrading? The LS2 intake is a 90mm, why go to a 85mm. FAST has come out with a 92mm which many are upgrading to.

What year is your GTO? The '04 GTO had the LS1 and '05-'06 had the LS2. Did you put in an LS6?

I would recommend sticking with the setup you have right now. The LS2 intake and throttle body are both 90mm, so going to that typhoon intake would be a downgrade. If you are looking for a new intake manifold I would recommend looking into the FAST 92mm setup. It does require some cutting of the fire wall but it is a worthwhile upgrade IMO.

Has anyone tried to fit the ZR1 filter into the LS3 or LS7? It looks like the filter is the same size but with a much more open design. More flow for the LS9?

Default I think Farmer is on to something here....

I did a bit of research and found that we can buy the ZR1 element at the dealer now or very soon. The GM part number is 25940997, my local dealer doesn't have it in stock yet but said they should be able to get it soon. This looks to be a plug and play swap and you have a filter element that supports 630 HP in the new ZR1 installed in your LS3 or LS7 waking it up a bit.

I remember the stickers under the hood of the old GM's that said "Keep Your GM all GM", in this case it finally makes sense to do that...more power, no warranty issues with aftermarket filters, etc...I'm in..that new filter has got to be worth some power.

Good call Farmer,

Justaguy

I don't have any pictures, but I did hold what I believe was a ZR1 element in my hand and I'm sure it was identical to the LS3 and LS7 element with the exception of having bigger flow channels through the element which I guess is the reason it flows a ton more air.

The ZR1 elements are now available at the dealer. I got mine for $120, seems a bit spendy, but better than anything out there on the aftermarket so it isn't so bad considering.
