Just back from funfest in Effingham Ill where I had an opportunity to visit with some GM engineers that were showing the new ZR1 (what a machine!)and giving ride alongs. My question was this, I want to mount some track tires on another set of wheels to use for auto cross and track events, can I run with out TPS? Answer is, no! Without TPS the speed on the C-6 is limited to 85 MPH.
I was told all C-6, we did not discuss ZR-1 (or Z-06)
When running w/o TPS does you DIC show any thing that you have to clear with the reset button?
Yup, the most annoying thing, You have a flat tire in the front right, then you click, it says you have a flat tire in the front left. Then you clear it, it says TPMs have to be serviced and then I can do something. It also shows the flat tire light on the console.
There is no such restrictions. I am tell you I have gone atleast 1.5 times that without any issues, so that is bogus. It does say reduced handling but its not telling you that the computer will reduce it, but it is warning you that, because tire is flat dont try to be O'Connell
