Default Empty C6 cats. Gains?

It appears the newest generation cats flow better than ever before. Even stock. That being said has anyone emptied the stock C6/Z06setup and documented any significant gain? Are off-road pipes available for the stock front section or is it a pure waste of time and the only significant gain is through headders?

If I am asking a question that has been answered repeatedly please point me to the thread. I searched but most hits were related to the C5.

Thanks.

This topic has been discussed many times in depth. You are just not searching right. Use the advance search, C6 Corvette 2005 ??? and type in "no cats". Read up!

No off road pipe for the stock system. If you are going to run stock or just a cat back system its not worth doing anything to the cats. If you are going to headers then that's another story.

Thanks for the search tip. I found way more than I needed.

In our opinion, deleting the cats is not worth the effort. On a mainly stock car, 3-5hp gain.

Expect a bad smell (un-burnt fuel), louder exhaust, and tuning will be necessary.
Thanks,

Nate

I've ridden in several cars without cats and none of them ever had a bad smell
