What is the stock pushrod lenght for the ls2? I ordered a new set from comp but I think they sent me the wrong lenght. Im putting a bigger cam in 230/232 with a set of trick flow 225 heads. I was pretty sure the stock lenght would work with this set up so thats what I ordered but I forgot what length they were supposed to be. Please help me again.
Stock is 7.4" but I dont think trick flows use the stock length. Further, bigger cams have smaller base circles and thus need longer pushrods if heads are stock deck thickness. Milled heads and thinner gaskets make the rod requirement longer. Since trick flows tend to be used with aftermarket rockers, that may affect the final length.
Valvetrain geometry isnt the area to be guessing. Get an adjustable pushrod and check the exact length by finding zero lash and then adding to that length the amount of preload for your lifter of choice.
Option 2 since most DIY wont spend the money for these little things is to call the head manufacturer who may make a recomendation based upon experience.

Hey Spin why do you suggest using 7.25 push rods with the 228/232 .588.595 cam, patriot exteme duals with stock motor and heads? Just curious.
7.425 would be the correct rod for stock heads since the cam's base circle is .060" less in diameter....the radius is thereofre .030" and 7.425 is the closest stocked by most vendors.
Not sure where you got 7.25......if I typed it, I left out the '4'. 7.425.
If that is in a thread let me know where so people dont buy the wrong rods.
