Default C6 Alternator Charging Solution *pictures*

After a lot of testing with several cars here, including the pair of APS TT C6Z's that are currently the two fastest Z's in the country, we needed to find a solution to the alternator issues that plagued these and other big-HP C6's.

The problem -
The fuel systems need a good amount of power to keep up the fuel pressure in the high power cars, the factory unit was dropping voltage, amperage, and at max output, this is bad.

The cars basically kept a lot of the factory options (Like most typically do), but aftermarket parts like high out put fans, boost controllers, Nitrious set ups, and a few other small electronic pieces were added. As power increased we were seeing noticeable bad amounts of voltage drops causing fuel pressure to fall with it. Not good when trying to push for big power and keep things safe.

This just was not going to work in order to make these cars reliable with the power we wanted. And after hearing a few other shops having somewhat similar issues, there needed to be a fix.

The Solution -
A custom spec'd factory style alternator, which can be wired into the factory harness and still controlled by the factory computer, the car now will only draw the power it needs! The best of both worlds. This alternator still utilizes the factory mounting location, and factory serpentine belt! It does require a custom mount for the top of the alternator and bottem, which we have designed and made! This unit is not off a factory GM car as well, which made it hard for us to find/fit/test in our initial R&D.

This alternator set-up has held up to over 3-6 months now of constant abuse on not just one car, but several, where as we were replacing stock units monthly. These alternator set-ups completely solved our issues and allowed us to continue making really big power #s while maintaining stock-like reliability! The jumper harness allows quick installation and no chomping of the factory harness, and you will have no check engine lights either, and still maintain the ability to tune the alternator through the factory ECU!

We are currently going to start selling this option, after speaking with many other big vendors who have not been able to solve this problem and are just swapping in new OEM units every other few weeks (assuming the car is driven). We also offer wholesale opportunities on this product.

So if you are tired of your power problems on your C6/Z we have the answer, and it is race proven! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooByV3j77To

Here are a few pictures of the first bracket which since has been slightly modified for production!

We are going to start selling this package which includes the Alternator / Wiring harness / Bracket with choice of polished or powder coated / and instructions for $ 1200 shipped! No core charge as well

Here are some photos of the prototype installed on a car here! (don't mind the water, little wet)

Here are pictures of the kit just parts, for those interested.

If you have any questions give us a call at the shop: 614-444-5884 or email at: sales@ipsmotorsports.net

(also if there is a lot of interest we will start a Group buy on 8 kits for the CF , having already sold dozens)

You may or may not be familiar with the infamous "Service Charging System" fault and ANNOYING chimes that accompany it.

Some, like me, have experienced this with Underdrive Pulleys.

Will this fix that issue?

On the three cars we have tested in the shop (not counting the several others overseas, and in the US we have not heard back from, assuming its a good thing) , we have not had the *famous* service charging system*. Ironically two or the three test cars, did have under drive pulleys.

We are working on adapting this to the C5s as well

For those curious this alternator has a commanded ability of 260 amps, and on two of our test vehicles (producing over 1000 hp at WOT) it produces a rock solid and steady 13.5 volts!

On the heads/cam C6 we tested it on as well, it outputed the exact voltage we wanted, everytime, no draw or drop in current!

Being plug and play, this is a great modification for those in need!
