I want to put a 2006 rear diff in my 2005 manual car.
Is the transmission intermediate housing the only thing that will have to be swapped? I have the Z51 option, is there a difference in the transmission intermediate housing? Is the rear different for the Z51 because of the cooling? Has anyone bought one? How much? Were can I get a good price?
Sorry for all the questions. But I want to get it right the first time.
thanks
chuck
P.S. Would changing the transmission shaft and installing a 06 or later Z06 rear diff be possible/cheaper than a built 06 C6 rear diff and transmission intermediate housing?
you would think that if you wanted to do all that work to your car that you would have a set of helms manuals. all the fitting's for the cooling are already on the base case and believe it or not the base and the Z06 are the same.
Try contacting Gene Culley at gmpartshouse.com, he can probably get the parts for you(at a good price) or at least advise you as to what you need. It's my understanding that all that is needed is the intermediate housing.

I read somewhere that the Z06 has more splines on the trans shaft.
