Default Cutting open mufflers

I see threads where people take the stock Z06 muffs, cut them open, take out the cloth, and seal the perforated pipe inside to actually make it louder.

Currently I have Z06 Bullets on my C6 but I love the sound of my buddies C6 Bullets on his C6. I hate how mine sound more muffled compared to his. I have 2 huge muffs compared to his 2 muffs that are the size of coke cans. I don't feel like buying stock Z06 muffs and doing the mod or even going down to 2.5" just to get C6 Bullets.

So my question is, do you think it is possible to cut open my Z06 Bullets and possibly doing this same mod that can be done with the stock Z06 muffs? I know you make think I am crazy to cut the Bullets open but I am cool with it if it will work.

Why not just get straight pipes,or make some, and compare??Bullets are pretty close to straight pipes, but not quite there.

my Bullets are the z06 ones and have huge muffelrs...not near straight pipe like the C6 Bullets are since they only have these little muffs the size of coke cans...

if i did straight pipe they would have to do all the bending over the axle and stuff...be easier if they could just cut them open and do the mod like the stock Z06 exhaust...

Default sound

I have the fusions on my Z06 and I am going to go with headers when I have some extra money, that should make it sound better. I heard a guy with slp loudmouths and it was way to loud. I had magnapacks on my mustang and it sounded like a race car. Good luck.
