Default Michelin Pilot Sport Cup

Has anybody used these tires on all 4 wheels on a C6 Vette for normal spirited driving on the road? I received a set of these tires as a gift, sizes 265/35/18 and 345/30/19 , for my 05 widefender Vette and was wondering how they "react" to normal road conditions. Any comments are appreciated, thanks.

MPSC's are very heat sensitive and need to be hot to work correctly, otherwise they are very slick and unpredictible when cold if pushed. I have used them as track tires (on both C6 and C6Z) so I can drive to-from the track. Once hot, they are excellent track tires, but I seriously doubt you will get them to working temp on the street. I would advise against street use, especially in your part of the country now and through the winter. When I have driven them on the street, they are very loud/harsh and tend to "tramline" quite a bit.

...and they'll throw tons of rocks (in street use).

They are dot race tires, good to drive to and from trackdays, bad for normal driving. Usually used as a dedicated track tire ,tread wear about 80, not the stickest ,but gt3rs 911s run them as stock factory tires.

I read the TireRack review on these tires and was surprised that they are used original equipment on th E92 BMW M3 and the Porsche Turbo and GT2. I am going to install them and give them a try since nobody seems to have the Michelin PS2 in the 345/30/19 size and they are on backorder. Plus they are new and "FREE".

These are not OEM tires on the E92 M3 or Porsche Turbo. GT3RS and GT2 do come with them as an option since these cars are heavily track oriented. They did come as OEM on the E46 CSL M3 as it was also a track oriented vehicle, but was only offered in Europe.

You need to read the Tire Rack reviews for Corvettes and you will see they are tricky tires. Be carefull .

I agree, I run them and when cold, you might as well be running on rims. They are a very good tire for the summer and it doesn't take thaaaat long to heat them up. Expect to lay down $2K about 3 times a year for a new set though.

I had them on my e46 330i supercharged BMW. Great tires. Very sticky. Not bad in rain either (they were probably at 1/2 tread and I thought the grip was better in the wet than my Bridgestone RE 01R's).

They do throw up a lot of stones crawling around a parking lot. People behind you will get sandblasted.

They run slightly wider than normal tires.

They last all of 3000 highway miles with a little spirited driving. Hope that helps.

I just bought two of these tires for the rear of my Z06. I am running just under 600 rwhp. I agree with the posters. They seem real loose and according to the reviews hydroplane real easily if you are out when it rains. I will probably not buy these tires again when these wear out. They were more expensive then some of the other tires out there too.

Great track tire, but the PS2 is a better choice for daily driving.

I appreciate everybody's comments and since I am lucky enough to drive 500 miles in my Vette a year, I am going to install these tires and see how they perform. I have not driven my Vette since May and the lull in the economy might be beneficial to me to get back home and work on it and driving it. Stay Tuned!!
