Default NPP Retrofit system

I have decided to install Z06 Mufflers on my 2007 C6. In the past few days, both mfrs of retrofit systems PM'd me (without being prompted) advising that their respective systems are for sale.

I do not know which one to use. For those of you that actually have installed either system and/or use iether system, please tell me which one you have and why you like it or hate it. I have to pull the trigger on one of these in the immediate future.

Thanks

The Z06 mufflers are not the same as the 08/09 LS3 NPP mufflers. The Z06 mufflers have a 3" inlet while you stock system is 2.5". The Z06 mufflers will not just bolt onto your car. Have also read here on the forum that the Z06 mufflers do not sound the same as the factory NPP mufflers. Are you aware of all this?

I do have the factory NPP on my 08 and use the M2W from www.nakidparts.com. Like the system very well.

"NPP in a box" (my retrofit vacuum system) is on my web site along with full color instructions. It's nice to see what you getting into. I developed these systems over a year ago working with both the GM engineer and B&B. I can tell you that I have 100's of these in use some for almost a year. All my components install in the car (except for the vacuum line) which is superior to any design out. Also if the install is on an LS2 I provide my exclusive vacuum tap that is head and shoulders above the rest. On the LS3 you use the traditional tap on the intake. The largest reseller of NPP systems even packages my NPP in a box with their exhaust.

The Z06 exhaust systems used to have 3" pipes that reduced to 2.5" at the mufflers. Has that changed with the newer models??

I think that is correct. However, the space to cut/weld the mufflers to the pipes is very small. I had my shop neck down the pipe and go on with the 3" over axle pipes. Worked great. They were good and did all of the shifting around and wiggling that needs to be done to get those 3 inchers from rattling against the frame or drive line parts. It is tight with the big pipes.
I did the NPP-IN-A-BOX with M2W and it is just the only way to go, IMHO.

I did the bi-mode retrofit using Z06 mufflers and all factory vacuum parts to my 2005 C6 in July 2007. I developed my retrofit controllers back then for my vehicle and have been selling them to enthusiasts that want the best retrofit controller system for their cars ever since.

I have sold many different retrofit kit versions to people each tailored specifically for their needs.

My 2005 C6 is the first bi-mode retrofit car to ever have a 4 operational mode bi-mode exhaust system. I built my car's system to have full open, full closed, rpm open and throttle position open modes.

I have used Z06 mufflers, NPP mufflers and B&B Fusion mufflers on my car and have experience working with all the different bi-mode mufflers available.

I currrently have for sale my engine vacuum based bi-mode retrofit called Exhaust Commander All-in-1. It is a kit that has everything you need to install bi-mode mufflers in you car except the mufflers. It will give you full open / full closed modes and gives you the ability to switch between the modes instantly using the supplied One button wireless remotes.

Here is the purchase link -- Exhaust Commander All-in-1 bi-mode exhaust retrofit kit

The Exhaust Commander All-in-1 bi-mode exhaust retrofit kit includes my One button remote wireless controller , the vacuum solenoid, the vacuum tubing from the engine to the vacuum solenoid and from the vacuum solenoid to the mufflers, as well as install instructions. This kit uses engine vacuum supplied from the intake manifold and uses the GM recommended NPP vacuum port on the back of the intake manifold, just like NPP cars, Z06's and ZR1's do.

I custom make each kit so I am able to tailor then to your needs.
Contact me if you need any additional info or would like to purchase a retrofit sytem that is custom tailored to your needs.

Ben
