Good advice, will definitely seek their feedback. I'm going to measure PTV prior to having the heads milled, and flycut if necessary. I believe it was you (or maybe Spin) that mentioned in another thread that TSP, who will be doing my head work, sinks the valves 0.010 if I remember correctly.

I'll measure PTV, and then do the math on how much that clearance would decrease with milling/thinner gasket without sinking the valves. That way, if they are sunk a little, I'll have that much extra room.

And be sure and keep that thinner head gasket in the mix. It does more than just increase the static CR. Here's an interesting article for those not convinced of the thinner head gasket's valvue in an LS3.

If you are using stock heads that are not ported, with thinner gaskets, use a dremel to knock down any sharp edges such as the metal surrounding the combustion chamber.

I'm gonna have TSP port my heads and MAYBE mill like 0.010. not a big change, but it doesn't cost me any extra so might as well take the small bump to put me at 8.6-8.7 DCR.

I saw Old Motorhead's post and thought the same thing as i looked at where all of you were. Not looking for people buying me things but rather looking to meet up with a bunch of guys to have a nice night out.

I hope you are all doing well.
