Default Changing CAI Question…

I have decided to change from a Vararam to a Blackwing CAI.

While I have a replacement radiator shroud, when I removed the Vararam and looked at the shroud with the cutout, I began to wonder if there would be any problems if I left the Vararam modified shroud in place instead of installing the new shroud.

Would the increased airflow to the intake be beneficial or would the decreased airflow directed to condenser/radiator possibly cause problems?

Thanks for all comments or recommendations.

The only issue will be more dirt in your engine bay. Other than that you will be fine.

The Blackwing is NOT a CAI unless you cut the shroud.

Hmmmmm, maybe I will cut the new shroud with a smaller opening to accomodate the size and shape of the Blackwing which should still increase the air flow but let less dirt into the engine.

I will post pics of the process and final results.

Thanks for the responses.

If you don't mind revealing, why are you making the switch?

You shouldn't have any cooling or other issues. And I would also be interested in knowing why you are switching. Very happy with my Vararam.

I had a custom hoodliner painted and the silicone coupler was rubbing the paint off part of it; the Blackwing air bridge is lower than the Vararam air bridge.
