I'm on a path to strengthen my '05 rear in order to withstand some a boost application. I've tracked my car with the stock components a number of times with close to 400rwhp. I recently went to ECS and had them install an LS7 clutch, hardened output shaft, and 4.10 gears. I wanna be a little cautious so I don't get a supercharger installed, then have it blow up some drive train components a week later. What else do I need to add help with my rear handling that sort of power? I was considering having ECS install the Z06 diff. Had I known I was planning to do a supercharger, I would've had them do the diff when I was doing my gears

Thanks
Definately have them swap out your dif. The common upgrade for the '05 is the C5Z dif. Stronger and cheaper to replace than the '05. Also while you're at it I'd install a DTE brace. Cheap insurance in case the rear does go, it wont take out your tranny. Had I known I was going full on H/C I would have installed one when I did my rear.
......and had them install an hardened output shaft, and 4.10 gears.
The internals of the 2005 case arent the weak link, its the case itself. There are 2 options: A C5 rear diff or a 2006+ C6 rear diff which requires the rear trans case to be swapped too. I have the C5 diff and I'm very happy with it. It takes sick power levels with r-compound tires and even survived some serious wheel hop. Even if I break the diff, the C5 core is 700 bucks as opposed to the C6's 2100 dollar core charge.
I have 2 hardened shafts and 4.10's. Cartek installed the C5 diff with their custom center mount in my C6 2 years ago.........Miles of smiles. Aintqik's 761rwhp 2005 C6 runs the same diff as mine. No issues there either.
