I have a heavy billet **** as well. I had also previously ordered the race **** and the gripper **** from George to go along with my A6 Leopard, heavy billet steel ****, for a little variety from time to time.
I stuffed the MGW race **** with a few cut up strips of that foam packing, which the **** comes in, before installing it.
Stuffed it deep inside the ****, good enough to allow it to screw all the way down to where I wanted the height of the ****, but without running the risk of stripping the nylon threads in the **** attempting to screw it all the way down to where I wanted it. And tightened the set screw.
It is every bit as quiet as my heavy steel billet ****. And while heavy itself, of course not nearly as heavy as the billet steel ****.
Still the race **** is a nice appearing shift ****. I have found that it makes it easy, for me at least, to shift into 5th and 6th gears when highway driving, than the round **** does.
However that heavy billet steel ****, simply can't be beat for a faster, and more precise 2-3 shift.
Once the weight of that over 1lb billet steel ball gets moving in the direction of 3rd gear, the weight helps to keep it going in that direction. Couple that with the precision of the MGW shifter and you can see why 3rd is so hard to miss using this combination.
I have a 1 lb billet brushed **** from the same company as the above pics. I think the name of the company is TGW or something like that. I got mine from the big auction house but the company has their own website as well. They are a Canadian company.
I will echo what was said by the two other posters, the MGW short shifter is great BUT pair it up with a weighted **** and it takes it to another level. I love my set-up.
found it! Thanks! Is a heavier **** easier to shift all the time or just during powere shifts in drag racing?
All the time. Without a doubt. You can use one or two fingers to shift with, or just a little wrist action, if you want with a shift **** of that heft and the MGW.
Sorry for the delay in replying! I got the TWM in beadblasted stainless finish to match my '05 console/bezel,the model called the Desert Eagle. I liked the facets on it that kind of matched the creases in the fenders of the C6,and the overall size and shape in the hand was virtually the same as the stock ****! Rock solid install system with zero rattle or vibration. You can also order it without the company logo if you wish.

At 600 grams, 1.32 lbs, that sucker is a good bit heavier than my 485 gram 1.07 lb model.
Mine doesn't rattle either. But at 600 grams, I can definitely see why yours doesn't rattle or vibrate.
