I am going to need new tires on my 2006 C6, magnetic ride Corvette. I am interested in retaining at least the dry weather handling of the original Goodyear run-flats, a quieter ride and decent wear ratings.
Does anyone have suggestions or experience with new tires? Should I use non-run-flats? I understand that run-flats have a more harsh ride and are noisier. The original tires were quite noisy on cement freeways.
I'm not trying to create a Lexus but I would like a reasonably quiet grand touring car!
research the Nitto Invo's. I think them and the BFG's are a great choice. The Michelin is also a great tire but I looked at all the info I could find and talked to many corvette owners that had both. I don't feel as they offer any better performance and are twice the money. I carry a small inflator and a tire patch kit with my Invo's. More than likely if I get a flat it will be from a nail or something. I can patch it and air it up and make it to a tire store and have it professionally done. It that doesn't work I have roadside assistance that only cost my an extra $4 every six months. I will have them come get me and take me and my car to a shop. My invo's have better traction, better ride and are quieter. I would never go back to runflats. Just my opinion of course.....Craig
