Here in SWFL we got a cold front today (Sunday) but it never really got cold till about 8pm. I've driven my car all day and didn't have it pop up then I drive it at about 8pm for a 30min drive without the CEL then after about 3hrs I take a 15min drive and about I'd guess about 10min in the CEL pops up.
I don't remember when I had the car tuned but it was definetly hot out and probably the high 80s and humid. Tonight when I was driving the car it was the low 50s and dry.
Soo I guess it was freaking out because of the colder more condensed air?
I looked over the intake system and it all looked ok.
Every once in a while I got that code. My tuner checked the car and could not find a problem. Car runs good too and idles fine so we shut that code off.
No just the P0171. The drive home was a more tame drive barely going over 2k rpms. I reset the code and went out for about 20min on a more spirited drive and it didn't pop up till I was slowing down and pulling into my neighborhood. I then reset it again and left it overnight then this morning when it was in the mid 70s I went out for about a 30min drive and it didn't pop up at all.
Ok There are a few possibilities. Many time a lazy 02 sensor can cause this problem ie not crossing from rich to lean quickly enough may cause this, a possible exh leak will cause this error. Yes unmetered air such as a vacuum leak on the induction tract will cause a lean condition but it will typically be followed by a lean opposite bank code as well.
Here is a little test. if you disconnect the 02 and the car still drives great and no problems than it is typically an exh leak or faulty sensor. IF it is worse than it may be something on the induction tract, like a loose duct etc.
I will be in Ft myers on Wed tuning let me know if I can help.
I promise Ill help you out one way or another.
Thank you and god Bless

I wouldn't mind you looking it over and having a trained ear listen to her. Where will you be in Ft. Myers and from what times.
