Default Plug question

I'm removing the doors from a wrecked 07 coupe. Seems to be a Z51, HUD optioned car. There are three plugs to unplug from each door which I have done already. I know what the two larger plugs are but what is the yellow, small, one-wire plug go to? It has a connector like the satellite radio. Thanks.

Satellite radio antenna is located in the rear view mirror, That may be the plug you are looking at.

Maybe I should clarify better. The plugs I am referring to are in the door jam inside the rubber boot where the door plugs in to the main harness of the car. I'm removing the doors from the car and I want to know what that plug is and how it relates to something inside the door. It does indeed have the plugs that are identical to the plugs for the satellite radio but I don't know where it goes and for what reason. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

One other thing.....there is a yellow connector in EACH door so whatever it is, it runs inside each door. 07 Z51 Coupe.

Just a thought. but normally yellow wires are for restraint systems. Maybe a side impact sensor wire?

It's not airbag connectors. It's a single yellow connector with a single black wire but it does look like antenna wire because of it's size and the insulation on the outside. I'm not disputing that it could be an antenna for the satellite radio, but why would it be in
EACH door and not in a central location? I need to know what this is so I can know how these doors will be compatible with other year models and options, etc.

Antennas are in each mirror (not just one).

I'm almost certain that IT IS the airbag sensor connector.

Almost all the restraint system connectors are yellow in color.

The car must have had side airbags in the seats. In a car with side airbags, there is an impact sensor in the door and the wires connect to the harness in the car with yellow connectors.

There are some pictures out of the Service Manual below (click the thumbnails for bigger pics).

The one picture shows the side door, and the other shows a couple of connectors for the side airbag wiring. You can see in the picture that the connectors are identified as " (YE) ", and that means that the connectors are yellow in color.

Does the connector you have a question about look like one of those?

Bob

No the connector in question is EXACTLY the same connectors used for satellite radio connections. You are right about the airbag sensor in the door, but I am aware of that connection and have located the actual sensor mounted to the impact bar inside the door and eliminated it from the equation. I'm very familiar with C5 teardowns as I have many under my belt now, but I'm still somewhat "green" when it comes to C6 teardowns. I need to order my new service manuals but I don't have any yet so I'm relying on the forum for some answers. I just wasn't expecting the factory to run antenna wires into the mirrors in the doors, of all places, for the radio. But, if that is indeed what they are, that's ok. Like I stated earlier, I just need to know if these doors, with the options it has, will be compatible with other C6 cars with various other options. I'm tearing down a Z51 coupe with HUD, and two tone interior for parts and just want to keep it straight. Thanks for all the help so far!

True. XM antennas are in each mirror and I believe that started with model year 2006.
