Default For Those that are thinking about getting Nitto INVOs...

Well i finally got my tires installed today. I went with:
255/35/18 Front
305/30/19 Rear

For those that are thinking about getting INVOs...all i have to say is GO FOR IT!!!!

As soon as I left the tire shop I already noticed how smoother the ride was compared to the stocks. I haven't tested the traction yet as I'm letting the tires seat in.

Just thought I'd chim in and post my opinion.

I have the exact same sizes you have. I also agree that they are much more quite than the stock tires. The handling of the tire is much better and through the turns feels much more stable. As far as traction goes, with over 700rwhp, I definitely noticed a difference...especially when the tires have a little heat. I would never go back to a runflat again.

Tires do require time to "seat".

I worked in Goodyear's racing tire shop when in college and the engineers would not do a final balance on new tires until they had been run for a few miles. Like piston rings, tires can (and will) rotate on the rims until seated.

some shops will heat cycle the tires for a small fee if adequately equipped. this is normally used for the road race or auto cross. Here's a good read tho: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...e.jsp?techid=5

Heat cycling is a fact. The way you treat them in the first 3 cycles is critical. Having had so many different sets of the same tire, I can tell you for a fact that if you dont observe the proper break in with this proceedure, the performance is day and night. I have had drag radials stick awesome amounts of power and had the same model tire perform like a runflat.

That said, once the break is is done wrong, the tire is going to perform badly for the rest of its life. Lifespan is also shortened by not heat cycling.

When I did the tractionmonster thread, the first 60 seconds with the tires was no different than the runflats in that they unexpectedly broke loose. I wasnt trying to do that, it just happened because out of the box, they are not heat cycled. 3 heat cycles later and not abusing them for that time rewarded me with a tire that can take a 11 pound boost in 3rd gear without breaking loose. In NY with a nitrous shot the same tires woudl stick 2nd with 560rwhp and 600rwtq. The same tires now have 4k miles on them and they look near new....4.5/32nds tread left and they start with 6/32's. Anyone with the same tire knows that they never make 8k with any tread left.

Do a search on the net for heat cycling and then enjoy decent tire performance and enhanced life of the tread.

305/30 is shorter than stock and makes the already large fender well look bigger.

Does anyone make a tire that is wider, fits on the stock rims, and maintains stock diameter?

I've been researching tires and read a review on Discount tire.com from a C6 owner who said he hated these tires because the sidewall was too soft. I also just got an e-mail from West Coast Corvettes with these tires on sale. Any other opinions
