Bought a 2008 Jetstream Blue coupe from a Memphis, Tennessee dealer with the FE9 emissions. I went to register the vehicle in PA and was greeted with, "You need the NE1 emissions" as of the 2008 model year in PA (essentially, it has to pass California CARB rules).
Anyway, the dealer had called the factory and Bowling Green said it was in the programming, which leads to my question.
Does anyone have performance data on an FE9 equipped vehicle versus NE1? More hp, torque? Why the difference, unless the difference would be in performance?
Every thing I've read on this forum has said there is no difference in the tune or any thing else. The only difference is the sticker. I live in CA and picked mine up at the museum, The sticker had to say conforms to CA emissions standards.
I have read the attached previously, but nowhere did it talk about performance. I was curious if anyone has ever dynoed the two with the emissions being the only difference between the two cars. I guess I was reliving the days of 1980 where there was a 305cu in for Ca and 350 for the rest of the country.
Thanks again. Luckily, when you move to PA and/or have 7,500 miles on the vehicle, the registration restrictions are lifted.
