Default HID Conversion kits - I need a little help...

Hey guys I have a little dilemma here I'm sure one of you can help me with. I have seen posts where people change their driving lights over to HID as well as their highbeams and this is something I would like to do as well. I have decided to go with the 6000k lights for both.

1) Will the heat generated from these lights wreck, warp or melt anything if I put them in for the driving lights?

2) I read people posting they got there HID's from Ebay etc... but I have not seen mention of the brands??? I want to put a good quality long lasting set of HID's for my car. Any brand recommendations?

3) The factory lowbeam HID's should these or can these be swapped out for a better quality light as well? I think they are only 4300k perhaps swap them for 6000k's???

Any help will be appreciated.

Look for "nissangtrpower" on ebay (do an advanced seller search). He has outstanding customer support and a quality produce. I got the 4100K fog light kit. The 6000K will have a definite bluish look. The brand he uses (if I remember correctly) is Phillips.

i used the kit from crazycowboy here on the forum, he was knowledgeable and helpful with the subject, his system uses a relay and a dedicated power source ensuring no damage to the factory wires will result, i went with 8k per his advice and love them

I know of one case where changing the high beam melted the head light lens.

I just did my low beams and fog lights 2 days ago. I bought an 8000k kit for the bottom and matching 8000k D1S bulbs for the low beams. I don't think I will ever need to use my high beams again :-) Enjoy!!!!

just did my fogs w/ Hella ballasts but I dont remember the type of bulb but it was 6000k. I replaced the hi's w/ 6000k quarts bulbs and they were almost useless. as compared to the fogs. Am going to do the hi's next week as soon as I can use my friends heated garage. It's getting too cold to lay on the ground around here. BTW if you are going to replace your low beam HID's I only found one company that makes a 6000k direct replacement PIAA and they want a small fortune for them. the original ones (stock) are 4300k and they have the ballast built on the back and look somewhat yellow next to the fogs and the hi beams.
Good luck
Mike
