Default G meter max on HUD?

Does anybody know if there is a maximum G force amount that can be displayed/measured on the HUD? RedRocketShip and I were up at the Tail of the Dragon last Friday and we were both getting a max reading of 1.27g several times and thought that it was a little strange that both cars were getting that number and maybe there was a limit to the measurable amount.

Im not sure if there is a max but myself and many others here on the forum have gotten higher readings than 1.27. My personal best is 1.7. I believe gm says the car will hold under good road conditions up to 2.1 and 2.4 for the Z's.

I assume the numbers you're mentioning are on stock tires?

No they dont. There is not a road car anwhere in the world at any price that will pull 2+ G's.

The max the meter will read is 1.27 in one direction and 1.28 or 1.29 in the other.

Thanks dude - I thought his numbers were a little high. I didn't think it could have been a coincidence that repeatedly both of our cars read a max of 1.27.

Yeah, 1.7 or so on autocross tires would be possible though (peak, not sustained)

It might be but the factory G meter will never tell you that.
