My o8 when you cut deep like into a parking place feels like it is poping I would describe it like when I have my tahoe in 4x4 and cut deep you can feel the wheel bite against each other. Also when you drive down the road you have to corect the stearing all the time very slightly but it takes the fun out of driving I have had the aligment done the car only has 2800 miles. It is at the dealership now but they rubed their heads when I told them about the driving problem
Wide gripping Tires turning tight and slowly will skip ( for lack of a better term) especialy in the cold weather on the sidewall a bit. Its normal to alot of our C6's. And wide tires will tramline driving the road. The stock tires seem be be worse than others. I replaced my wheels and tires over the summer with Z06 tires( Bridgestone Pole Positions) and its quite a bit better than the stockers. Thats just my opinions.
get them to change the reardiff fluid, its a service bulletin. the rear is trying to act like a locker and pushing the front around.
The title says FRT end noise. Im thinking he means front end.
Ive had the rear end issue twice myself and had it fixed under warranty and Ive had the issue with my front tires as have others here. In my case the rear is fixed and the tires still skip while driving slowly turning sharply on cold pavement and tires.
My 08 does the exact same thing. Almost like it is slipping on tiny spots of ice. It did not do it for the first 2500 miles, but it is now doing it. No allignment for me yet. Tires not too bad with 3,300 on it.

I didnt happen previously because its winter now and the tires and pavement are cold, exactly what I said. Dont worry, its normal.
Thanks for the help the car is still at the dealership the noise is supposed to be fixed but they still have no clue about the steering when you drive down the int it is like I am drunk I have a hard time getting the car to go straight withing the lanes I have to move the stearing wheel all the time just to keep it going straight it takes the fun out of driving the car. I am not talking about high speeds just normal driving this is my 4th vette and the first to act like this. The dealership was nice enough to tell me that the first mec that drove it said something did not feel rite so at least I am not crazy

I had the same problem, would have bet the farm that it was
the front right wheel area, they changed diff fluid, its all better now!!

08 / 1,800 miles ... What you are saying seems to make sences to me. Yesterday it was around 15 degrees. That was the first time I experienced the popping turning to the right. It happened 3 times yesterday .. All three times the car was cold.
On the third time, I pulled into a mall parking lot. Stopped and made several turns to the right and left. No noise. The tires were now a little on the warm side.
I’m still checking but it sure could be just the cold weather … like you said.

I know he said the front, but if the rears are acting like a locker, becasue the fuild is bad, it will "push" the front end in a tite turn...ie parking. making the sound come from the front as the tires are skipping, but thew CAUSE is the rear.

My wifes Z51 did the same thing. I had her get the front end aligned, but had her tell them to use the alignment for a standard suspension instead of the Z51. That took care of it.
If you have any concerns about the mechanics where you take your car, I can make a suggestion. Take it to Beaty Chevrolet on Parkside and tell Greg at the desk that you want Sam Witt to work on your car. He helped me with my flood car and his knowledge is unsurpassed. Tell them Tim sent you.

The front tires are free wheeling. If a cars rear is locked and turning the rear tires at same speed when the car turns the rear tires have that issue because the outside rear tire is turning faster than the inside one, and if they are locked you will get that chatter from the rear tires not the non driven fronts.

It’s going to get into the upper 60’s here in Ohio today. If it stays dry, I’m going to see if my popping noise is still there in warm weather.
This noise started for the first time last week when the road and weather were very cold. It was down around 10 degrees when the popping first started. This was the first time I drove the car in such cold temperatures.
I’ll let everyone here know if I still get popping noise on warm pavement.

Today it reached 70 degrees. After testing my car by turning both sharp right and left .... I could get no popping noise.
I guess the cold pavement/weather could be the cause. I'm still going to keep my ears open.
