Default HOUSTON, we have a traction problem!!!

Got my car back from Jason/ Stephen @ EG. They patiently did the tune on my 05 vert. All I can say is now I'm looking into a wide body to get more tire on the ground because 1st and 2nd gear are pointless

Car's original set up was all teh bolt on's plus p/p Intake and TB plus ARH long tubes. 395/395 hp & tq

ADDED:
whiplash cam thanx to LIZ & EG
AFR 225 with 65cc
U/D pulley.
no dyno numbers yet, just a street tune until we relocate the coils in a couple weeks and will put her on the DYNO.

to quote Stephen this car pulls like a freight train.

Really want to thank Jason And Stephen for being patient with my car. The PCM was locked & scrambled and coudn't be over ridden by the techII. Jason pulled the PCM and i took it to ICON to have it set back to stock.

Is this a cammed car or just the AFR 205's added to the stock cam? The way you have it stated above doesnt mention its a cammed car.

Huge tires rarely have much better traction than smaller street tires. I have seen the 325 runflats make 20-30% better traction than a 285 runflat but an R-compound will be 300% better. If you go to a really good tire like a PS2 its still nothing like a r-compound tire but worlds better than the runflats. Dont make the mistake of thinking a 305/30 is any better than what you now have and they look a bit small in the wheel well because they are a smaller diameter. The stock tires are 26.9" and the 305's available are 26.3-26.4. If anything, the back of this car needs a 27.5" tall tire.

Spin is right, its not so much a little larger tire as it is compound. PS2s for good street or even look at Toyo R888's for R compound street, but they are noisier and won't last as long. I have both, also AFR 205s cam...

Have fun

AFR 225's and EG's whiplash cam is the top end!

I have a base 08, and I put Nitto NT01's on the rear in 19x30x305, but they have two 3/4 inch open grooves which I don't like, but the ride and grip is noticeably better then the 295 original run-flats. I have 18x30x335 Toyo Proxes RA-1 that I run, and the guys are right, they are 200% better than most street tires with the possible exception of the Michelin PS2. The reason I know is I got to ride in a C6RS (lucky me) for a time trial. The PS2's are probably 70-80% of the RA-1's.

My tires are worthless as well and I have a better tire than just the stock run craps too. There isnt much you can do unless you go to a dr or something really soft and sticky.
