Anyone here have MGW shifter in 08/09 C6 have any comments on it?Any real difference from stock?
And Im not a dragster so I assume I should get the 30% shifter?
Installed the 30% in my 08 last spring. Even though the 08 shifter was improved, the MGW is a vast improvement over stock. I would have the occasional 2-5 shift instead of 2-3..Not a single missed shift in 5000 miles with the MGW..If you use the stock ****, (I did), you may have to address **** rattle, but easy to do.
This is one of the best mods you can do to your car. I put one in my 08,with the stock ****, and have had no probs with rattles. This thing is the best. GM should be buying these things and using them as the OEM parts.
Thanks I do like the stock ****, whats the fix for rattle?
I just used a dab of the RTV compound that comes with the shifter on the shaft before I put the **** on. One forum member had to use some double sided tape on his to take up the slack on the stock ****.

Put it where? On the flat part? Mine rattles horribly.

Hmm.. that hasn't worked for me. I've tried tape on various parts of the shaft, but it is impossible to get the **** on with the tape in place. And it gets badly chewed up.
Mine was rattle free over the summer, but when the temps dropped it started making noise. Mgw needs to use larger diameter O-rings or come up with a thin rubber bushing that goes over the shaft and under the ****. I think I might try to cut the pinke off a rubber glove and slip it over the shaft. Another possible fix is to come up with a threaded shaft in a diameter that the plastic OEM **** might thread on to.
