Default Help with strange question

I have an 07 MN6 and have had no problems except what I am about to describe happened twice far apart, but during the same driving.

First, with the car in normal mode (magic button untouched) there has never been an issue, can sometimes do small burnout/lose traction if accelerate hard enough.

I have pressed the traction control button off several times to play, with no trouble, normal burn outs, normal response.

The problem?/question is this, twice now I have pressed the button once for traction control off to mess around and when doing a high rpm burnout/spinning uturn the clutch will not rebound. It stays just off the floor, the car acts normal (ie continues to spin), but I have never seen this before. If I go to repress to shift it comes back to normal, or if I depress to cancel the burn, it returns to normal.

Anyone have any ideas? Is this normal--I would think not. It would seem to me the clutch was slipping, but normally that would still give you pedal rebound, just dead feel, right? Also wouldn't continue the power to the wheels. And bu the way, the car has never been tracked and has <5000 miles. Just like to drive her hard, but definately haven't abused the clutch--just messed around 10-20 times over its life so far.

Any comments would be helpful.

Thanks

Have you checked the clutch fluid level? Is it clean? Others have had this problem and it was related to very dirty or low clutch fluid. Many of us routinely siphon out the dirty fluid and replace it with fresh fluid.

Default you may be onto something

Never thought to look, just looked and the fluid level is at min and color is extremely dark (like old oil) and has what I would describe as grease (like from a broiler pan) floating on top and on the top of the cap.
First, isn't it supposed to be honey colored and clean?
Second how do I change it?
THanks.

did a search before I asked the question, couldn't find anything. revised the search after your question and found a ton of info on everyone having the same problems and hopefully a fix/flush solution. thanks, will post the link and results when I'm done if anyone else cares.

Default Baster

Try to find something other than the turkey baster. Mine leaks making the job a bit more tedious. Overall the process seems to work very well thanks to Ranger for the DIY.

Default works like a charm

The ranger accelartion clutch fluid method works great, my clutch is better than I ever remember it. Used a veterinary syringe no leaks or drips. Now I never miss 2-3 shift and no problems at all. Only one piece of advice-- works better with driving in between flushes, just pumping the pedal with the car off did very little.
Thanks again to the forum!!!
