We have one that was bought with the intention of using as a diagnostic tool. Haven't used any of the performance tools yet. It has a ton of readings you can pull if you're so inclined. I've never had another brands so, I can't compare it to anything else. We bought it for our 07' A6 Z51 but, I just used it on the 08' MZ6 Z51 and it seemed to have all the same functions. I'm trying to figure out why the 08' suddenly started running rough. The DashHawk says P0300 Multi/random misfires. I was able to see both current and historical misfies by cylinder. Looks like a trip to Andy @ A&A Corvettes is in my immediate future. My local tuner, that installed the A&A S-Trim, as closed shop.
I had one in my GTO and it was a great little addition. It even has a built-in shiftlight. I might have to hook it up in my vette now that I think about it. I'm not sure where to mount it though. any ideas (I already have boost and fuel gauges on the A-pillar)?
I have been running a Dashhawk for about 6-months and am pleased. It has numerous parameters. My favorites include inlet air temps and long and short fuel trims. Select the parameters through a USB interface with your PC (not sure about a Mac). Fuel conservation can be monitored if you are into that sort of thing - I can't keep my foot out of it to make much difference. The shift light is useful as are alarms for temps etc. The monitor changes color through 3 RPM stages. Mine is mounted on a suction-type mount attached to the windshield.I picked the mount up at Best Buy for ~$30.00. If you purchase the unit, be sure to update the firmware through the website.
