Default Battery Tender using CTEK ?

I just ordred the CTEK battery tender unit as I do not have a garage and must leave my vette in the driveway under a car cover when I'm nor driving it Mon - Friday. I need a unit that is small that is easily intalled under the hood as I live on Long Island, New York. Can anyone comment their expierence using the CTEK ? Thanks

Check out the specs:

I use the CTEK battery tender (second winter here in cold Montana). It works well. Might be a tight fit to install under the hood.

How do you hook it up, temporary using clips or accessory plug, or an other method?

Thanks for your feed back.

My vette is garaged, but the Ctek 3300 works great. If my car sits more than two weeks, I will hook it up using the battery clips for a charge the night before. Sometimes it will reach a full charge in 30 minutes and then go into the maintenance mode. I do not have any battery drain issues, but I like to keep the battery cells healthy. The charger is small enough to close the hood and run the cord down under the car, however when charging a battery, ventilation is recommended for the gases to escape. You might want to look into the necessary precautions when charging a battery.

As far as ventilation is concerned, I believe that was an issue before sealed batteries. Today, with a sealed battery, i don't think that is really an issue.

I used an indoor Deltran unit located under the hood with the car covered outdoors for several years with no problems.
Just unplug and drive away.
