Default C6 Electric Fans - Need Your Help Please

I don't have a Corvette (wish I did though), but I really need your guys' help. I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS and yesterday ran into a problem with the e-fans. I was getting my ss ready for storage for the winter and put Stabil in the gas tank. I then let the truck run for about 15 mins until I heard this gurgling nose come from the engine bay. I got real nervous so I immediately turned off my vehicle. After some thought and seeing that the dash hawk told me my engine threw the code P1258 (which basically meant that my engine was overheating), I realized that my fans had not turned on at all. As I was taking a look at all the wiring for the fans, I saw that everything was melted. The relay or relay wiring seemed to had failed. The wiring from the relay to the battery were all melted, and also the wire at the relay fell right off as I disconnected the relay from the radiator. I don't believe the fans are toast - I am going to remove them this weekend and test them to make sure. This taught me to never let anyone work on your vehicle but yourself. Now I am going to have to re-wire everything with the proper gauge wire. Does anyone know what the amp/voltage output of the C6 electric fans are? Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated thanks.

The C6 fan is operated through a module which reduces the voltage and subsequently the current. The PCM controls the fan speed through the module. If you are running a C6 fan without a module or a ballast resistor, you would have to run at least 8 gauge wire and a 40 amp fuse min. I would not recommend using this fan without a module or an appropriate ballast resistor.

I've posted on the Trailblazer SS, the Silverado SS, and GTO forums. I just figured I'd try here since the e-fan I have comes out of a corvette and thought you guys would know more about it.

You can use the C6 fan and run it manually thru use of a switch:

C6 Fan Controller

Or thru the PCM. Works both on high and low speeds.
