Having a really strange problem with my '08 Z51 Vert. Washed it/detailed it today, weather was great here in Fort Worth.

Drove to the gym, drove home. parked it in the garage.

The horn started honking in the garage...on it's own. First couple of times it was a brief honk.. then just solid HOOOOOOOOONK

I pulled the horn relay and it stops. Tested the horn relay with my meter, it's fine.

Any ideas on what to look at? The horn pad (button) in the center of the steeringwheel seems for outward appearances to be fine.

I've never seen a car do that b4.

If it's a relatively simple fix, would rather do it myself than deal with the dealership. They're such a PITA. Car is under warranty - so in the end if it's something funky they can fix it that way..

Curious what you guys think?

My .02 = If it's under warranty, then let the stealership fix it.

The default FOB reminder is set to honk 3 times if you exit the car and leave the FOB behind. Don't know if it honks longer if you leave it there. Does it continue honking as soon as you replace the relay? Try putting the FOB in the labeled area in the glovebox, see if it resets anything. Other than that, start working backwards to find the short.

First and foremost, THANK YOU - This fixed it.

The horn was just blaring, it wasn't honking 3 times or doing anything like that.

This week I have been going to the gym from the house in my gym attire rather than going from work. Why does that matter? Maybe this will help someone else, so I'll share.

This week I've had my fob/keys with me on the cardio equipment, and have been setting them in the little trays. Normally they stay locked up in my locker, and are nowhere near the cardio equipment or weight stacks.

I already know the gym cardio equipment kicks out a lot of RF noise, somehow it must have disturbed the relationship between my fob and my car.

Popping the fob into the receptacle in the glove box and resetting the relationship fixed the blaring horn.

Thanks again, no stealership for me.
