If I decide NOT to go with Z06 big brakes behind my new wheels, can anyone tell me what are some of the better rotors and pads on the market to upgrade my base C6 rotors? I would like to go with drilled and/or slotted "zinc washed" rotors. Two-piece rotors are not a must, but would like to stay around the $500 range for the set.
Why are you upgrading? Your intended use of the car may impact your decision. If you're just looking for improved street performance and appearance, you'd probably stay close to your budget picking up a Z-51 upgrade through Gene Culley... uses stock calipers, adds caliper brackets and rotors. Stock C5Z pads get good reviews, reasonably priced and available through the same source.
Good Luck!
I went with Carbotech pads and Z51 upgraded rotors from my base brakes. Amazing stopping power now. Also threw in some SS lines to firm it up.
I do alot of spirited driving, mtn runs, autox, and some track events.
I have killed the stock Z51 rotors now and will be moving to the AP racing rotors that Silverton linked to.
Thanks, I will check out these pads. I like the above mentioned rotors as well. However, I don't do a lot of spirited driving. Only 2K miles on my car, so I am doing the upgrades more for cosmetics, but to have the performance too..lol. I kind of like the drilled and slotted rotors, so I may lean more towards the Baer 2-peice rotors.

If thats the case I wouldnt suggest the carbotechs then. They are GREAT pads in stopping power but dust like crazy.
Go with some stock or ceramic pads if the "look" is what you are looking for mostly.
