Installing Aftermarket Head Unit

I am putting a DVD player in my car and need help with getting the dash apart. I do not want to break anything. Anyone done this and where do I start. Thanks for any help. Jeff
- Open center console and remove (2) 10mm bolts towards the rear. Use your nail or screwdriver to pop off the cover over the nuts.
- From inside the center console use a small screwdriver or nails to remove the center cap next to the TC button. It is oval shaped and part of it is within the console. It is easiest to remove with the console open. Pry upward as it just snaps in place.
- There is a single nut here that needs to be removed. Think its a 10mm as well.
- On the inside part of the console under the center cap u just removed you will see (2) 7mm screws. Remove these as well.
- Now gently unsnap the silver trim that surrounds the radio, shifter, a/c controls etc. You cant remove this piece all the way yet, just unsnap it.
- Now slide the center console towards the trunk of the car. Might take some wiggling around the parking brake lever, but it should slide back towards the trunk.
- Now completely remove the trim around radio, etc.
- There are various electrical connections that need to be disconnected within the above steps. Cig lighter within center consol, TC button, hazard lights, heated seats.
- Remove the (6) bolts holding in the radio and a/c controls.
This hopefully will get you going in the right direction. I installed a AVIC F900BT in my C6 and recently had to remove these pieces a few times in order to change some wiring around. Feel free to PM me if you need more detail or we can chat on the phone.
Good luck.
