My LS3 is way too quiet for my tastes and there's no way in hell i'm shelling out big bucks for a cat-back system. I'd like to weld in aftermarket mufflers in place of the stock ones. I want it to be noticeably louder than stock, but want to keep drone to a minimum on the highway. What do you guys reccommend? Links to videos and part numbers are great!

i did magnaflow bullet weld ins 14 inch long 2 1/2 inch in and outs..and while it sounds dang good it has a bad drone when i get on the highway..i'd say try and find a set of z06 take offs..

beware of other opinions when it comes to exhaust systems everybody's ear is different. there many reasons for the 1250-1600 rpm drone. vert or coupe, any other mods, etc. I can tell you anytime you divert from stock you will pick up some drone to so much you get a migraine. even the npp has it when its open imho. I have not tested all the different ones so maybe there is one that does not drone. if that is the case then its going to be pricey.
I recommend that you find other vette owners and ride in their cars before you lay out the cash. do the homework you will be much happier then doing the mufflers a couple of times till you get it right. I have found most owners will be more than happy to let you take a ride and offer so much advice your head will explode. that's what the brotherhood is all about.
good luck,
Mike
A set of NPP or Z06 mufflers would be great if you can find them at a decent price. I have used Magnaflow in the past and is a great muffler. The sound is deep and no rasp. Like Hal stated, there is drone on the highway and that will be the case with most aftermarket mufflers. I have the NPP and on the highway, there is drone when I am 6th gear. The NPP mufflers are great since you can control what state they are in.

The only way to go. Loud when you get on it, but quiet at the 70 MPH cruise. Best of both worlds

This is what I always recommend. This advise is completely correct. Save yourself an expensive mistake
Corsa is always a great choice for that deep sound without drone. Good luck on your hunt!!
Good choice? Deep sound? Corsa's? I don't think so. I bought Corsa's b/c everyone on this forum is in love w/them. The aren't deep, they're high pitched. They aren't cheap (What the OP is looking for), at $1200+, and they weigh....WAY too much. Not a good choice.
OP, you're on the right track, building your own system. Only way to go, and way, WAY cheaper (with better results). Good luck and I'm not giving advice except listen before you buy.
