Helluva couple months. After a $700 brake job and $2,200 for a bad crank pulley that backed into the front cover and oil pan, I think the starter may be shot. Appears to be plenty of battery power and all I get is a click when I try to start. Tonight I hit the button 20 times before she turned over.
Sound like a starter?
Does anyone think I can change the starter in the garage?
Haven't seen a starter chnaged on anything newer than a 67 Camaro!
And since you'll be working on your car you might as well clean the leads to the starter. My car did the same thing one morning. I thought it was my starter but after taking it off and testing it, it was still good. So i cleaned up the leads and VROOOMM!!!
I had a re[placement battery from NAPA. Took it back there, they say the battery is fine. I tell them to check if they sold me the right battery last summer. They didn't! And of course, closest battery is 2 states away and not in until Tuesday. they gave me a new one of the wrong size and the car starts now.
Check engine light is on, though and they couldn't get their computer to connect with the car.
