Default Fast intake installation

Bought a used fast intake that has the modifications done to clear the firewall to install on my 2005. Problem is in the instructions it says to change the valley pan bolts to the M8x30MM button head capscrews included with the manifold. I did't get these bolts as it was used. I wondered if you guys who have expeience with the fast knows if this needs to be done on the C6 as well as the C5? If I have to have these does anyone know where to get them besides buying them from fast?

Yes they are needed and can be found at local auto/hardware stores. I would try Lowes / Home Depot first

You positively and absolutly need those valley bolts. You can get them from COMP if need be. Many have either forgot to change the valley bolts out or didnt think it was necessary. What happens when you snug
( Torque) the manifold down it will crack either right away or shortly thereafter. I seen one on youtube when those guys did a vid upon firing it up after FAST install. Comical but serious damage to fast. Get the right valley bolts. Good luck you will like the fast especially ported.

There is an adapter kit you can get that includes the proper bolts, I don't remember the part # but I believe SDPC and TSP carry them.

Thanks everyone for your input. Sorry, I'm not familiar with COMP, what is this place?

This is a great post. I did not know the story on the bolts. I hope this saves others from an expensive mistake.

You need the button head bolts for manifold clearance. If not used, you could possibly crack your FAST when torquing the intake bolts.
