Default remove rearview mirror

How do i remove the factory rearview mirror. 2005 conv with on star.can anyone guide me through this?

It has to be twisted off by turning the whole unit counterclockwise. It is tricky to do right and the mount can be damaged, making the re-install result in a loose mirror. I suggest going to an auto glass installer who has done many of these so you don't screw it up.

Thats correct less than a quarter turn left or right, just be careful not to pull on the wires.

If you are not familiar with the mirror removal have a shop do it, very easy to damage as in previous post, loose mount when reinstalled.
