will the stock clutch hold say 500 rwhp? what other things would i need to upgrade to keep the car reliable? i noticed a vortech supercharger kit used on ebay for 3200, what are they new? is that a decent kit? average install time?
its either sell the c6 and get a c6Z, srt 10, or supercharge my c6 ??? thanks everyone in advance
I have about 8k miles on my ProCharged 2005 and the stock clutch. Car makes 550 rwhp. So far I've had zero issues, but, I do not abuse the car. No track or strip days. No burnouts. The car does not hook in first or second gear. All of my "experiments in speed and distance" are usually on the interstate at higher speeds. But, on a cold day when the engine really makes horsepower, I get wheelspin at 80+mph!
You can't put a supercharger on a C6, its not possible.
Many guys including myself have the stock clutch. It seems to hold the power OK but you will likely experience the pedal to the floor syndrome if you flog it. On the street I don't get it but at the track or even the dyno I do.
Tires will be another thing you may want to invest in. Some good R compounds so you can use 1st and 2nd again.
Sticky tires will bring out the next weak spot, the diff. Hardened output shafts and perhaps a diff brace are good insurance.
The list goes on and on but it just depends on how far you want to go with it. Many are happy with just the blower kit.
I've seen it on there too...you will need bigger injectors and the boost a pump. the base kit sells for 4740 while the complete kit sells for 5200 from A&A corvettes.
can i just get it to about 500rwhp? dont really wanna push the reliability to much, besides 150 additional rwhp than i have now would feel like a rocket. atleast for a little bit. how do you turn the boost down on a SC?
Keep boost lower by using a larger pulley.I have an 06 A6 with LG Longtubes and a Vortech T trim. With a very conservative tune Im making 505/440 to the wheels. That power upgrade is night and day compared to before. Dont have many miles on it yet due to weather but it should hold up. Down the road I will add a 403 forged stroker and turn up the boost. Hopefully by then there will be a bullet proof A6 avaiable.
You won't need a boost a pump unless you push more boost. You will run out of fuel towards redline. You will need injectors. Still on stock clutch here for 14K. I drive the car pretty hard.
