Everything else equal would you choose a 418 or 440 stroker and why?

There is no substitute for cubic inches!!!!
THAT being said, you will have a real problem hooking up, thus tires and many other upgrades to get the car to hook up, and not self destroy.

I do unedrstand - I am running 600 RWHP and hooking is a problem so why not add just a bit more? I will still hook up in 3rd

I really want a stronger system. The 418 or 440 will provide the forged components I desire. I have already taken care of the valves

I can then add that extra 50 RWHP I want w/o taking a big chance.

A 418 (415) is usually based on an LS3 block and the 440 is based on the LS7 block. I believe that the LS3 design is superior to the LS7. The LS3 option will also be less expensive. That said, there ain't no substitute for Cubic Inches!

I have the same problem, I have no traction tru middle of 3rd, but I just ordered a Katech 427 shortblock with TFS 225's just to make sure I don't get any traction tru 5th
