Default NPP conversion of Z06 mufflers 3" to stock 2.5"

HELP!!! NPP exhaust: I just bought some Z06 NPP Mufflers for my 2005 C6 and the Z06s over the axle pipes are 3" and my factory H-pipe is 2.5" ... can anyone tell me the best way to convert them to fit.

Probably the easiest way to make the Z06 mufflers fit is to use your C6 2.5" OEM over axle pipes. Then the C6 H-Pipe and over axle pipes will match up.

Since you already brought the pipes, the fastest way would be to drive it over to a muffler shop and have them cut/weld expansion and/or reducer pipes to match up the stock H-pipe to the Z06 pipes.

Is it 6 speed or A4? If it's A4, then it would be best to have the mufflers cut off and welded to your 2 1/2" over axle pipes. Very hard to get the 3" pipes to fit around the A4.

It might be a good time to think headers and 3" x pipe and they will just bolt up

The Z06 has a 3" pipe that leads to the muffler, but the muffler itself has a 2.5" inlet. The last inch of the Z06 pipe is swaged to 2.5".

To use the Z06 mufflers on a std. C6, simply cut the Z06 pipe off the muffler leaving about 3/4" remaining. Then cut the std. pipe off the std. muffler as close as possible. Slip the std. pipe into the tapered stub on the Z06 muffler and weld in place.

Had I planned ahead, this is what I would have done. Instead, I acquired a set of Z06 mufflers that had already been modded with a 2.5 inch pipe and bolted it up to my existing headers and catted mid pipes. You can't lose either way.

Then, call Son of Dreams and buy what you need. I did and absolutely love it - I have the switch installed in the dead pedal - my wife has no idea that it is there.

Like my last PM to you said, call me on my cell. Since I have not heard from you (No call or PM) and you are an obvious douche bag, keep your wheels. I'll get them elsewhere.
