I always thought the valve stem should line up with the mark on the tire.In this case the yellow dot on the tire. I had four tires mounted and none of them line up.
I have mine what they call "road force" balanced. Thats where they take the tire and keep moving it around on the rim until it takes the least amount of weights to balance it. I also assumed the dots should line up with the valve stems. I'm sure the tire gurus will chime in and straighten us out.
Yeh. I checked to make sure he mounted the tires so the outside side was outside and it was and I left. I was glad he didn't scratch the rim and figured he knew what he was doing. He's a proffesional tire mounter.
Isn't the yellow dot marking the heaviest point on the tire? If so then having the TPS/Schrader valve 180° opposite as in your picture is correct.
Both the tire and the wheel have some out of roundness/eccentricity. When the dot on the tire is lined up with the valve stem, the two eccentricies somewhat offset each other. When they are mounted like the OP photo, the problem is compounded. It has nothing to do with weight.
